I will be away at a boring conference over the weekend and for the first part of next week, so you can expect blog silence and twitter-whining from me for a few days (business as usual, basically). Who is Tom Gauld? If you're a bookish person on tumblr, you're probably familiar with his cartoons. If not, fix that. One word comes to mind to describe them: relevant. They are smart, they are funny, they are whimsical, but, most of all, they are relevant in that way that makes you go "I didn't even know I needed it, but this is perfect." I especially love his panels about books and classic authors, because they manage to be so funny while showing understanding and love for their subjects.
